The Psychology Department Mourns The Passing of Alum, Courtney King
“Courtney was a ray of sunshine, but don’t let that fool you, she had a feisty side! Her bright smile, beautiful personality, and kind heart will forever remain in our hearts. Courtney fought some hard battles during her short time on this earth, but she was not a complainer. If anything, she took care of others! After finishing her BA in Psych at RC, she completed her Masters at Liberty. Courtney loved her friends, her sorority sisters, and of course, her family. To know her was to love her. T-Shirt Slogan Contest
The psychology department is soliciting ideas for a departmental t-shirt slogan. Please submit your ideas to Ellen Dyer by 12/1 at noon. We hope to vote during exam week. The person who submits the winning slogan will receive a free t-shirt and Amazon gift card!

Nikki Hurless to Attend PhD Program in Clinical Psychology at St Louis University
Nikki Hurless will attend graduate school at St. Louis University in the Fall. She will work with Dr. Terri Weaver focusing on interpersonal violence. Nikki received a competitive research assistantship. We can’t wait to call her Dr. Hurless!

Sara Dorrance Receives Psi Chi Summer Research Grant
Sara Dorrance and her research mentor, Dr. Friedman, received a competitive summer research grant from the national honor society in psychology for their work in the field of cyberpsychology. Their project will focus on how time away from technology impacts well-being in college students. Congrats, Sara!
